harvest for the hungry

bossy is very pleased to partner with the emergency foodshelf network’s “harvest for the hungry” program, by providing fresh, locally-grown produce to those households facing hunger.

“when contributing to harvest for the hungry, you support local growers and help the emergency foodshelf network deliver fresh nutritious foods to the tables of hungry families who cannot often afford the luxury of fresh, locally-grown produce.

all produce collected through the harvest for the hungry program will be delivered to their network of foodshelves, on-site meal programs and hunger relief agencies for free.

in 2010 harvest for the hungry received over $48,000 in donations from more than 100 donors, including generous grant contributions from the wedge and cargill company. these funds were used to purchase over 71,000 pounds of fresh, local produce to feed hungry families in the twin cities and with current support from csa members and donors in the community, the wedge, and finnegans, they hope to distribute even more nutritious local produce in 2012.”

your donations buy locally-grown, organic produce from bossy acres and other participating farms to ensure that our community’s hungry have access to healthy, nutritious food.

please consider a donation today – go here and learn more!

(bossy acres will be added to the list soon!)
