(Like-minded young organic farmers gathered together on a beautiful farm, taking in great food, company, clogging, and square-dancing!)
July 31: Beginning Farmer Troubleshooting on a CSA Farm
(Hosted by Land Stewardship Project and East Henderson Farm in Henderson, MN)
Aug. 13: IATP’s ”Bike & Bite” Event (www.iatp.org/bikeandbite)
(Local, food-centered community bike event being held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP)! It’s a great opportunity to connect with folks who are excited about local, sustainable food in the Twin Cities.)
Aug. 13: Minnesota Garlic Festival (www.mngarlicfest.com)
(We order our seed garlic from local garlic farmers; specific garlic varieties that are tried and true for withstanding the Minnesota winter and overall weather. Not only will we be able to connect with the farmers and pick up our orders directly, we’ll be able to get our hands on that crazy delicious garlic ice cream!)

Aug. 18: “Local Foods Night @ Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf” (www.hallieqbrown.org)
(The event will feature cooking demonstrations by local chefs and CSA farmers, resource tables, samples of local fruits and vegetables, live music, and games for kids. The event is part of a local foods drive that spans that entire growing season as a broader effort to bring awareness and fresh local foods to our community.)

(Two-day educational event at the gorgeous SSE in Decorah, Iowa)
Oct. 15 Bossy’s Garlic Bonanza – Dayton, MN

Oct. 16 Fall Mushroom Inoculation Workshop via Herbal Turtle Farms – Winona, MN
(All-day workshop learning how to grow shiitake, oyster, and wine cap mushrooms)
Oct. 24 National Food Day – Screening of “Dirty Work: The Story of Elsie’s Farm”
(All-day celebrations and events of National Food Day – specifically, we’re attending this film at the University of Minnesota – featuring a local, Wisconsin CSA farm.)

(Celebration of 25 years of working for fair, sustainable and healthy food, farm and trade systems. Good food, great company, local brews and live music from Soul Tight Committee)

(Year long program/initiative that provides participants a wide range of opportunities to learn firsthand about low-cost, sustainable methods of farming-networking, financing education, marketing, business plans, etc. – Hutchinson, MN)

(Annual charity ride/race to support local food shelters that host Thanksgiving meals! This year, all donated food goes to benefit Sisters Camelot for their Thanksgiving meal to those in need)
