accepting both the risks and rewards of the season…

is an amazing, community-based relationship

one that we don’t take lightly

but sometimes, csa’s can be overwhelming for people

for some….it’s too much food, which equates to too much waste

and for others, it’s just the right amount of food for their families

we’ve been working on ways to best fit the needs of the community that surround us, while maintaining the purpose behind and the importance of the csa model

so …..we’re currently working on a certain level of customization with respect to variety. we also offer weekly (full shares) and biweekly (mini shares) options for your convenience.

here’s an overview of our csa program:

1. csa membership for 2013 is capped and is available on a first-come basis

$50 deposit required upon membership/deducted from balance

2. payment plan is available in two installments

half due april 1st, half due june 1st

3. every membership will receive one free bossy acres market bag

4. csa will run june thru october (specific dates tbd-weather dependent) – we’ll be growing much of what’s on this list (aside from berries, asparagus, burdock, artichokes, okra, gourds, and horseradish)

5. for your convenience, there will be 5-7 pick-up sites near and around the cities (specifics tbd)

south minneapolis = blue ox coffee company (38th/chicago ave) – confirmed
midtown = kitchen in the market (inside the midtown global market) – confirmed
st paul = mississippi market – confirmed
ne minneapolis = eastside food co-op – confirmed
northfield (bossy acres farm – 5680 290th st. west, 55057) – confirmed
burnsville = valley natural foods co-op – confirmed
minnetonka = pairings food & wine market (6001 shady oak rd) – confirmed

6. weekly shares vs biweekly shares:

full shares are $600
mini shares are $350

7. all memberships will have access to recipes, newsletters, potlucks, field days, tours, herbs, and cut flowers

8. csa add-on partners include:

local raw honey from the beez kneez bicycle delivered honey
whole bean locally roasted coffee from moonshine coffee company
farm fresh eggs from braucher’s sunshine harvest farm
cultivated oyster, shiitake, & various mushrooms from cherry tree house mushrooms
fresh homemade gluten-free vegan granola from birchwood cafe

I understand that joining a CSA is a shared reward/shared risk relationship. Bossy expects an abundant harvest but cannot always anticipate negative impacts such as poor weather/insect conditions that could result in vegetable damage/loss. Bossy will do their very best to dodge these bullets should they arise to grow the very best product we can for you and your family.(required)

I understand that I will be notified of my CSA pick-up site options via email once they are confirmed and will be able to make that selection then.(required)

I understand that if my share is not picked up, it will be donated to the local food shelf. (If you are on vacation or cannot pick up for whatever reason, please make arrangements for someone else to pick up. Otherwise, it will be donated)(required)

I understand that the Bossy Farmers utilize CSA memberships to plan for and invest in the upcoming season. Cancellations/Refunds will only be honored up until April 30, 2013.(required)
